Gunshot Wound Fatal

Sugarcreek, Ohio. — A gunshot wound to the abdomen sustained while hunting on the family farm near Navarre proved fatal to Joe J. Hershberger, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob D. Hershberger.

The youth was struck when a gun carried by his brother was accidentally discharged. He died while undergoing surgery at Doctor's Hospital in Massillon.

He was a member of the Old Order Amish church, and the funeral was conducted at the family home on Sept. 12.
