ABRAM WARKENTIN

Abram Warkentin died Feb. 2. He was born Sept. 11, 1923 in Memrick, Russia, to Heinrich and Margarete Warkentin. In 1929 the family fled to Germany. His father died and his mother with her children immigrated to Brazil. When he was 20 he committed his life to Jesus on the basis of Phil. 2:9-11 and was baptized. He married Aganetha Federau Oct. 24, 1949. They immigrated to Canada in 1961, living first in Winnipeg, then in Kelowna, B.C. and finally in Abbotsford. He farmed until his retirement. They joined King Rd. MB Church, Abbotsford. He sang in the German choir for many years. He enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 1 sister, he is mourned by Aganetha; sons Walter and John; 3 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter. The funeral was Feb.6 in King Road MB Church.
