MARTHA SCHULZ
Martha Schulz died Nov. 25 in Abbotsford. She was born Aug. 14, 1913 near Herbert, Sask. to Jacob and Helena Thiessen. She accepted Christ and was baptized and joined Greenfarm (Sask.) MB Church. She left school to care for her parents. She completed high school in Steinbach, Man., then became an LPN. She helped her sister Anna manage the Mary Martha Home in Winnipeg. In 1956 she married Diedrich Schulz, a widower with 7 children, who was formerly married to her sister Sarah. Diedrich died in 1976. She served joyfully in Herbert MB Church in Bible studies, women's groups and hospitality ministries. She was committed to prayer, missions and outreach. She moved to Abbotsford, B.C. in 1993, joining Seven Oaks Alliance Church. She moved to Tabor Home in 1999 and to Menno Hospital in 2002. Her spirit inspired everyone, Predeceased by Diedrich and stepson Ed, she is mourned by son Doug; stepchildren Irvin, Esther, Lillian, Olga, Myrtle and Dorothy; 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Nov. 28 in Seven Oaks Alliance Church.
