AGNES JANZEN

Agnes (Sawatzky) Janzen died Nov. 20. She was born Mar. 5, 1913 in Osterwick, Ukraine. She accepted Jesus at age 9 and was baptized at 16 at the last public baptism for Mennonites in Ukraine. She married Friedrich Mensch Mar. 18, 1935. The family fled Ukraine during World War II and came to Canada in 1948. Friedrich died May 13, 1963. Agnes worked for a number of Lethbridge, Alta. families. She married George Janzen from Abbotsford, B.C. in 1977. She was a strong woman, much loved by others. Predeceased by Friedrich, she is mourned by sons Art, Nick, Harry, Fred, Willie, Vic; daughter Joan Byrne; 3 brothers; 3 sisters; the Janzen family. The funeral was Nov. 24 in Clearbrook (B.C.) MB Church.
