— Mrs. Ella Schowalter Becker, wife of Bernard A. Becker, died Friday night, Aug. 28, at the Halstead Nursing Center where she had been a patient for about two and a half months. She would have reached her 75th birthday on Sept. 7. Mr. Becker also is a patient at the nursing home, but the couple had resided in Newton. Funeral services for Mrs. Becker was held Tuesday forenoon at the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, with Dr. D. C. Wedel officiating. Surviving in addition to Mr. Becker are three daughters, Mrs. James Bright of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. James Sharp of Orangeville, Calif., and Mrs. James Hunter of Los Angeles; two sons, Aldine Schowalter of Burrton and Eno Schowalter of El Dorado; two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Becker was the former Ella Seifierd [''sic'' Seifreid]. | |||
