Katie Wiensz died Oct. 8. She was born Jan. 27, 1910 in Omsk Post, Siberia, Russia to Franz and Anna Froese. She was unable to have adequate schooling because of the political conditions. In 1924 the family immigrated to Aberdeen, Sask., then to Laird. She accepted Jesus and was baptized June 25, 1925, joining Laird MB Church. The family moved to Mayfair, Sask. She was a housemaid in Saskatoon. She attended Bethany Bible Institute, Hepburn, Sask., for 2 years. She worked as a cook at MB Bible College, Winnipeg. She moved to Vancouver, working in homes and restaurants. She married George Wiensz, a widower from Los Angeles, Cal. Nov. 30, 1961.
