— Walter E. Niles, 81, retired farmer and school administrator of Halstead, died at the Halstead Nursing Home on July 2 after a long illness.  Survivors include his widow, the former Linda E. Penner, a resident of Friendly Acres in Newton, and a son, Clarence B. Niles of Newton.  Mr. Niles was a member of the Halstead United Methodist Church, where the funeral was conducted Tuesday afternoon by Dr. C. R. Findley and Dr. D. C. Wedel.
