DICK BROWN

Dick Brown was born Nov. 4, 1924 to Dr. and Mrs. Hubert Brown in Toronto. The family moved to Fort St. John, B.C. when Dick was 5. Summers were spent with his father on pack trips into the mountains on Indian Department business. Later he packed horses for the survey crew on the Alaska Highway and led hunting trips into the mountains. Upon discharge from the air force following World War II he obtained a degree in geological engineering from UBC. He mar- ried Alicia Jane Hoare in Whitehorse in 1949. He worked with Imperial Oil in Edmonton, Pacific Petroleum in Fort St. John and Oilfield Consultants and then consulted independently. He developed a section of land near Fort St. John. He retired in 1996. He commit- ted his life to the Lord as an adult and became active in the church. He enjoyed camping, canoeing, hiking, cross-country and downhill skiing, and travelling.
