HENRY J. DYCK
Henry J. Dyck of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away Aug. 11. He was born Sept. 12, 1899 to Johann and Justina Dyck in Blumenfeld, Russia. In 1905 the family moved to the Caucasus. During World War I they moved to Steinfeld, Molotschna, where he received Christ, and was baptized into the MB Church. He married Maria Kaethler in 1923. In 1925 they immigrated to Canada. He found work on several farms near Drake and Guernsey, Sask. A year later he was able to rent and then buy his own farm near Guernsey. In 1956 they moved to Saskatoon, where he worked for Massey-Furguson [sic Ferguson] and the Case Company. In 1960 his wife passed away. In 1962 he married Elizabeth Dyck, and they moved to Clearbrook. They lived in Tabor Home for the last few years. Henry showed a keen interest in his grandchildren. His sharp mind and keen sense of humour remained with him to the end. Predeceased by his wife Maria and daughter Justina, he is mourned by his wife Elizabeth; sons Herman, Henry, Elmer and John; daughters Mary Mayer, Hilda Foth, Hertha Siemens and Kay Willems; stepchildren Jerry, Hank and David Nickel, Betty Johnson, Alice Sarchuk and Esther Berry; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral was Aug. 16 in Clearbrook MB Church, with J.E. Klassen and Jacob Pauls ministering.
