HELEN SORGE

Helen Sorge of Abbotsford, B.C. died Mar. 19. She was born Feb. 20, 1931 to Abram and Louise Dyck in Filadelfia, Paraguay. She received Jesus as her Saviour, was baptized Apr. 22, 1946 and joined the MB church. She came to Mission, B.C with her family Dec. 25, 1950. She worked in Vancouver. She married Emil Sorge Oct. 18, 1953. They bought a house in south Vancouver in 1955, and retired to Clearbrook in 1981. Helen was known for her beautiful rose gardens and loved to cook and bake. She volunteered at the Community Centre and at church, serving on the funeral catering committee and caring for the flowers outside the church building. After a series of strokes, she moved to Tabor Home. Predeceased by Emil in 1996 and a brother in infancy, she is mourned by son Karl; daughter Rita Steuart; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; 1 brother. The memorial service was Mar. 24 in Clearbrook MB Church with Walter Wiens and Heinz Ratzlaff ministering.
