THEODORE (TED) HENRY BORNE

Theodore Henry Borne passed away Jan. 23. He was born Oct. 21, 1909 to Heinrich and Katherine Born in Memrik Colony, South Russia. The family immigrated to Canada in 1926 and settled on Tom Hall's farm near Oakville, Man. He married Mary Sawatsky June 21, 1933. After a short time on Hall's farm, they moved to their own farm near Newton Siding, Man. After a diligent search for truth, Ted accepted Christ in his early 20s, was baptized and joined Newton Siding MB Church. In 1946 they moved to Fork River, Man. where they farmed for 19 years. They served as deacons. In 1965 they moved to Clearbrook, B.C. and joined East Aldergrove MB Church. Ted had a consistent prayer life; church attendance, Bible reading and tithing were important to him. He enjoyed listening to tapes and radio broadcasts of Back to the Bible and The Hour of Decision. He enjoyed participating in singing and choir. He was a meticulous worker. In B.C. he worked at delivering and shovelling coal, then at Clearbrook Frozen Foods until retirement. Mary died in 1982. He married Helene Bergmann Dec. 8, 1984 and joined Bakerview MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C. Two years ago, his health began to fail; he moved to Tabor Home and later to Menno Hospital. Predeceased by Mary, son Jake, 1 grandson, 1 brother and 2 sisters, he is mourned by Helene; sons George of Stettler, Alta., Henry of Dauphin, Man., Herman of Pincher Creek, Alta., Vern of Kelowna, B.C., John of Mission, B.C. and Art of Kamloops, B.C.; daughters Laura Hamm of Norquay, Sask., Helen Hamm of Arran, Sask. and Eleanor Wall of Caronport, Sask.; 29 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters; 4 stepchildren; 12 step-grandchildren;18 step-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Jan. 29 in Bakerview MB Church, with Henry Thiessen ministering.
