Funeral services were held at the First Mennonite Church, Pretty Prairie, on May 26, with Rev. Ben Rahn officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. | |||

— Word was received here that Alfred J. Kaufman, 82, retired farmer and lifetime resident of the Pretty Prairie community, died May 23 at Kingman Memorial Hospital. Mr. Kaufman was the father of Rev. Waldo Kaufman of Freeman, S. D. and formerly of Newton, and of Mrs. Harvey Albrecht and Mrs. Fred A. Krehbiel of Pretty Prairie. Also surviving are his widow, Emma, five sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Pretty Prairie Mennonite Church, with Rev. Ben Rahn in charge.

ALFRED J. KAUFMAN
Alfred J. Kaufman, son of Peter W. and Mrs. Freni Graber Kaufman, passed away at the Kingman Memorial Hospital on May 23, 1970, after suffering a series of severe heart attacks. He reached the age of 82 years, seven months and 11 days.
Father lived his entire life time in the Pretty Prairie community where he was a farmer during his early life and a blacksmith during the 30 years before his retirement
Upon his confession of faith in Jesus Christ, he was baptized and received into the First Mennonite Church of Pretty Prairie by Rev J. J. Flickinger on March 27, 1904.
On Aug. 31, 1910, he was united in marriage with Emma E. Stucky. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1960 and were looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary this year.
