Mrs. Dietrich Friesen, 81, a resident of Newton for 45 years, died Sunday at Bethel Hospital after a brief illness. The funeral was conducted Wednesday forenoon at the First Mennonite Church, with Rev. Arnold Epp officiating. Burial was made in the Gnadenau Cemetery near Hillsboro. Mrs. Friesen was the former Agnes R. Wohlgemuth of Hillsboro. Besides her husband she leaves sons Clifford and Virgil of Newton, Levi of Lakewood, Colo., and Vernon of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Bernice Harder of Newton, Mrs. Beatrice Sawatsky of Weatherford, Okla., and Mrs. Faye Doyle of Wichita; 17 grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
