• Noah T. Unruh, 82, retired farmer of Halstead, died Dec. 7 at the Halstead hospital after a long illness. A native of the Halstead community, he was among those who pioneered in the now extinct Mennonite community at Coy, Okla. in the early 1900s and was married there in 1911 to Carrie Jantzen. She survives with sons Melvin L. and Joe A. of Halstead; five daughters, Mrs. Frank Becker and Mrs. Curtis Johnson of Halstead, Mrs. Henry Dirks of Montezuma, Mrs. John Wiens of Atwater, Calif., and Mrs. Franklin Jantz of Livingston, Calif.; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at the Grace Mennonite Church west of Halstead, with Rev. Arnold Wiggers and Rev. Carl Dirks officiating. | |||
