+ | ● Two funerals were held within a few days' time last week at the Ebenfeld M. B. Church southeast of Hillsboro. On Oct. 31 services were conducted for Mrs. D. T. (Marie) Loewen, 84, a native of Hillsboro and member of the church since 1897. She died Oct. 28. On Saturday morning, services were held for 16-year-old Daryl Hanneman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hanneman of rural Peabody, who died at Salem Hospital in Hillsboro on Oct. 30 after an illness of less than a week. The youth, a talented singer, was a senior at Hillsboro High School. Rev. Sig Polle, pastor, officiated at both funerals, and was assisted at the service for Mrs. Loewen by Rev. Marvin Hein. |
