Diedrich K. Hildebrand of Sommerfeld Colony was killed instantly on Dec. 5 when a log fell on his head.  He is survived by his wife and seven children.
 
Jakob F. Doerksen, 22, of Bergthal Colony passed away following a similar mishap on Dec. 15.  His bride of five months survives.

Steinbach, Man. &#8212; Reports received here from the Sommerfeld Colony in eastern Paraguay told of the deaths of two colony men in logging accidents.  Both were caught under logs during unloading operations.
 
The victims were Diedrich Hildebrand, 42, father of eight children, and Jacob Derksen, 22, who also was married but had no children  The accidents occurred only about a week apart.

LOGS KILL TWO IN PARAGUAY

Bergthal Colony, Paraguay. — Two Mennonite lumber men died in December following two separate accidents while unloading logs from wagons.

Diedrich K. Hildebrand of Sommerfeld Colony was killed instantly on Dec. 5 when a log fell on his head. He is survived by his wife and seven children.

Jakob F. Doerksen, 22, of Bergthal Colony passed away following a similar mishap on Dec. 15. His bride of five months survives.
