• Mrs. Daniel Penner, 72, a resident of the Bethesda Home at Goessel since February 1967, died Tuesday evening, Jan. 9, at the Halstead Hospital. The funeral was conducted Friday afternoon at the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, with Rev. Melvin Schmidt officiating. Mrs. Penner was the former Marie Boese, and was married to Daniel Penner in 1923. They farmed in the Burrton and Halstead communities for many years, moving to Goessel in 1959. Mr. Penner died last March. Surviving are sons Donald of Newton and Joe of Burrton; one daughter, Mrs. Olin Claassen of Whitewater; 10 grandchildren; and four sisters. | |||
