• Rev. Peter A. Friesen, 88, who was a missionary to India from 1907 to 1941, died Oct. 28, at Schowalter Villa in Hesston. The funeral was conducted Monday afternoon at the Hesston Mennonite Church, with Rev. Peter Wiebe officiating. Rev. Friesen was a native of Mountain Lake, Minn. His first marriage was to Helena Hiebert of Mountain Lake. Following her death he was married to Dr. Florence Cooprider of Hesston. She survives with five sons, Peter H. of Hesston, Wm. C. of Elsinore, Calif., John A. of Shanipur, India, Edward H. of Denver, Colo., and Paul A. of Hesston; one daughter, Mrs. Clifford Slater of Filer, Idaho; 22 grandchildren; one half-brother and one half-sister. After returning from India Rev. Friesen served churches at Denver, Colo., and Greensburg, Kan. | |||
