Mrs. Ben A. Richert, nee Susie M. Boese, was born at Springfield, South Dakota, on June 25, 1887. She grew to womanhood there. At the age of 18, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith in Christ and was received as a member in the Friedensberg church at Avon, South Dakota. | |||
In 1910, on October 6, she was united in marriage with Ben A. Richert of Marion, South Dakota. They lived at Springfield until they moved to Montana in the fall of 1911, where they lived until she passed away. To his union were born nine children, two of whom preceded her in death in 1923. | |||
Mrs. Richert passed away at the age of 57 years, two months and 21 days. She had been in ill health for the last two years and was critically ill for the past four months, three of which were spent in a Glendive hospital. She spent the last three weeks at her home until Saturday, September 16, at 8:20 P. M. when she passed away. | |||
She leaves to mourn her departure, her beloved husband and seven children, Andrew, Viola and Erbin [''sic'' Irvin], all still at home; Mrs. Frank Ewert of Avon, South Dakota; Mrs. Chris Christensen of Viborg, South Dakota. Mrs. Joe Deckert and Mrs. Vern Buller, both of Richey, and three grandchildren. Also two sisters and five brothers, Kathryn of Northfied [''sic'' Northfield], Minnesota, Emma of Russell, Minnesota; Ben of Denver, Colorado, who passed away September 18, Tobias of Tampa, Florida, Jake of Springfield, South Dakota, Dave and Pete of of [''sic''] Sagniaw [''sic'' Saginaw], Michigan, also her mother-in-law, Mrs. Andrew Richert of Richey, and many other relatives and friends. | |||
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 4, at the Bloomfield Bethlehem Mennonite church with Rev. G. Dick officiating. A quartet sang several song requested by the deceased to be sung at her funeral. Pallbearers were Isaac Buller, Fred Buller, Frank Roth, Henry J. Senner, Carl Schmidt and Ernest Janke. | |||

MRS. BEN A. RICHERT
