JOHN C. O. SPERLING

John C. O. Sperling was born to Peter and Anna Sperling on May 10, 1880, in McPherson County, Kansas.

With his parents he attended the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church where he was instructed in the church and baptized.

On March 14, 1902 he was married to Carrie Graber. Together they shared the blessings of the Lord for 64 years, until her death in 1966.

About the year 1915 he came into a vital personal relationship with god through faith in Jesus Christ. This faith continued to sustain him to the day of his death on Aug. 25, 1967, when he quietly fell asleep in the Lord.

Dad has left behind to await the resurrection and the call of the Lord: one son, Homer and wife of Colby, Kan.; one brother, Henry of Reedley, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Hamm and Mrs. C. H. Voth, both of Buhler, Kan.; and four grandchildren, Robert, David, Richard and Carol Sperling.
