•  LeRoy D. Schmidt, young husband and father of Moundridge, died Sunday morning at Mercy Hospital there.  The funeral will be at 2 p.m.  Wednesday at the Meridian Mennonite Church, with Ministers Milferd Wenger and Harold Schmidt in charge.  Mr. Schmidt was employed by the Hesston Corp. in Hesston.  He leaves his wife, the former Beatrice Peters, a son Keith LeRoy, and daughter, Marla Joy, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Schmidt of Hillsboro; three brothers and six sisters.
