ANNA JANZEN
Anna Janzen of Morden, Man. passed away Feb. 14. She was born May 5, 1909 to Henry and Katrina Klassen in Gruenfeld, southern Russia. In 1923 the family immigrated to Canada. She found work in Winnipeg and learned English. On Sundays when she didn't work, she went to church. During a Sunday evening revival meeting, she accepted Christ. Though she had times of doubt in her spiritual life, she knew Jesus would never leave or forsake her. She married Sam Janzen May 20, 1934. She enjoyed having company, showing hospitality, going for walks and attending women's Bible studies. In 1991 she was diagnosed with cancer. After a series of treatments, she was declared cancer free, but she had difficulty breathing and was in much pain. In 1994 they moved to a condo. She often felt housebound and lonely. In 1999 she moved to Tabor Home in Morden. Predeceased by Sam in November 2000, 1 brother and 3 sisters, she is mourned by children Harry of Victoria, Evelyn Reimer of Morden, Lawrence of White Rock, B.C., Len of Morden and Lois of White Rock; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral was Feb. 17 in Westside Community Church, Morden, with Russ Toews ministering.
