Selma Wiebe, 83, died Nov. 11 at the Bethel Home for the Aged where she had been a resident for two years. She was a retired nurse. Services were held Nov. 13 at First Mennonite Church in Newton with Floyd Bartel officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. She was born on May 2, 1899 at Buhler to Henry and Elizabeth Schmidt Friesen. On Dec. 7, 1943, she married Bernhard Wiebe. He died in 1950. Surviving are two sons, Henry of Rolla, Mo., and David of Prairie Village; one sister, Sarah (Mrs. Jacob) Unruh of Goessel; two stepdaughters, Dorothy (Mrs. William) Entz of Whitewater and Margaret Wiebe of Newton; one stepbrother, Milton Friesen of Hutchinson; four stepsisters, Kathryn Baergen and Hulda Miller, both of Hutchinson, Ella Weber of Wiley, Colo., and Evelyn Wiebe of Newton; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
