• An accident on the I-35 bypass west of Emporia Wednesday, Sept. 7, claimed the life of Gerald D. Koehn, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cornie Koehn of Newton. employed by an Emporia electrical firm, he was standing on or near a sign truck being used to work on flood light poles when the aerial ladder came in contact with high power lines, causing death by electrocution. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Emporia on Friday. Surviving in addition to the parents here are his wife, two small daughters, and two sisters. | |||
