• Miss Elizabeth Marie Funk, 77, died Wednesday night, June 1, at the Bethel Home for Aged. A native of the Goessel community, she was a registered nurse and was employed at the Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington, Ill. for 31 years. She came to Newton in 1947 and worked at Bethel Deaconess Hospital until her retirement in 1955. She was a member of the Goessel Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Peterson Funeral Home with Rev. Levi Koehn and Rev. John Thiessen in charge. Surviving are one sister, Miss Helen Funk, and one brother, Frank A. Funk, both of Newton. Friends and relatives gathered for a fellowship meal at Goessel, where burial also took place. | |||
