HENRY H. ISAAK

Henry H. Isaak of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on August 21. He was born to Henry Peter and Helena Isaak on March 13, 1894 in Donskoi, New Samara, Russia. He married Anna Kroeker on September 7,1918. Just six months later he had to leave because of the civil war. He vowed to the Lord that if the Lord would bring him through, he would serve him. But it took over three years till he gave his life to the Lord, on January 10, 1924. He was baptized into the Mennonite Brethren church soon after. In 1925 the family came to Canada, spending the first three years in Saskatchewan, then moving to Yarrow, B.C. On August 2, 1970 he became paralyzed from a stroke. The family rejoices in the memory of his victorious faith, saying Scripture and singing hymns to the Lord. He is survived by his wife Anna; five sons: Henry and Freda of Clearbrook, John and Lydia of Yarrow, Pete and Dorothy of Vancouver, James and Susan of Yarrow and Ernie and Marianne of Abbotsford; four daughters: Agnes (Mrs. Henry) Spenst of Yarrow, Annie (Mrs. Jerry) Peterson of Hazelton, Mary of Chilliwack and Martha (Mrs. Henry) Janzen of Clearbrook (all of B.C.); 24 grandchildren and one brother. The funeral was held on August 24 in the Yarrow MB Church, with pastor A. L. Klassen and Peter Unger in charge.
