• Peter D. Pankratz, 68, died Sunday at his home in Hillsboro. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Brudertal Church, of which he was a member. In addition to his widow, survivors include a son, Wesley of Tampa, a daughter, Mrs. Sylvester (Alice) Harms of Wichita; seven grandchildren; two brothers, John D. and Henry D. of Hillsboro; and five sisters, Mrs. John J. (Eva) Funk of Hillsboro, Mrs. John G. (Marie) Flaming and Mrs. Victor (Martha) Voth of Newton, Mrs. Arthur R. (Katie) Funk of Hillsboro, and Mrs. Sam (Margaret) Richert of Wichita. | |||

Peter D. Pankratz, son of John M. and Eva (Duerksen) Pankratz was born March 17, 1898 in Marion County, Kan. and passed away Sunday, March 8, 1966, at 12:45 p.m. at his home. He reached the age of 67 years, 11 months and 17 days. | |||
He attended the Steinbach Elementary school an also had two years of academy schooling. | |||
He was baptized on his confession of faith in his Saviour Jesus Christ on May 13, 1917 by Elder P. H. Unruh in the Alexanderwohl Church. | |||
On March 27, 1920, he was united in marriage to Mary Funk, with whom he shared life's joys and sorrows almost 46 years. This union was blessed with one son and one daughter. On Sept 16, 1921 he joined the Brudertal Mennonite Church of which he remained a faithful member until his death. | |||
He has been failing in health for many years and was bedfast the last three months. | |||
His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. | |||
He leaves to mourn his departure, his sorrowing wife, one son, Wesley and wife Erma, of Tampa, Kan. and one daughter Alice and her husband Sylvester Harms of Wichita; seven grandchildren, five sisters, two brothers and their families, and many relatives and friends. | |||
