Funeral services for Norma Elva (Schmidt) Nickel, 73, of Newton, were held May 20 at Koerner Heights Church of the Mennonite Brethren, Newton. Loyal Martin and Greg Schmidt officiated. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. She died May 15 at her home. She was a retired seamstress and a former housekeeping employee at Bethel Deaconess Hospital and Newton Medical Center. She was a native of Goessel. Surviving are her husband, Gerhard; one son, James M. of Columbus, Neb.; two daughters, Joetta Moyer of Guadeloupe, French West Indies, and Nancy Nickel Roupp of Newton; two sisters, Irene F. Schmidt of Newton and Hilda E. Schmidt of Lehigh; and five grandchildren. | |||
