JACOB E. SCHULTZ
Jacob E. Schultz of Herbert, Sask. passed on to his reward on January 31. He was born to John J. and Justina Schultz on February 15, 1910. He grew up on a farm southeast of Herbert and attended the Greenfarm School. He married Linda Penner in 1935 in Herbert. Three sons were born to the couple. Howard, the second son, died in 1962 at the age of 21. The couple settled on a farm in the Green farm district. On June 9, 1963 he accepted Christ as his Saviour at a Swift Current Barry Moore crusade. Though he was reticent to speak about spiritual things, he showed a sincere commitment, and was concerned for the spiritual welfare of his grandchildren. The couple moved off the farm, into the town of Herbert in 1966, and retired from farming in 1977.
His family remembers him as a devoted husband and father. Those who knew him appreciated his friendly disposition. He is survived by his wife, Linda; by his sons Lawrence and wife Shirley of Herbert, and Ronald and wife Alice of Regina; and by six grandchildren. The February 3 funeral service at the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church was conducted by pastor Jacob Pauls and Henry Voth.
