MRS. MARGARETHA QUIRING

Margaretha Quiring, of Dalmeny, Sas., was born in Blumenfeld, near Winkler, Manitoba, on June 25, 1894, to Peter and Katharina (nee Wiebe) Penner. In 1902 the family moved to Clark's Crossing, Sask. The home was located far from any church, and as a result, the family seldom attended services. In 1914, C. N. Hiebert came to the area, and conducted revival services in a nearby school, where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour. She was baptized that same year and joined the Mennonite Brethren church in Dalmeny.

She married Peter Quiring of Dalmeny on December 17, 1916. They shared 36 years together before he went to be with the Lord in 1952. She lived in Dalmeny for 25 years, residing in the Dalmeny Home for the aged since 1971. She enjoyed good health until March 30, when she suddenly took ill and was taken to the City Hospital in Saskatoon, where she passed away on April 1, with many of her family members present.

She is survived by three daughters; Hilda (Mrs. Peter) Loewen of Dalmeny, Bertha of Prince Albert. Sask., and Martha (Mrs. Wally) Black of Kamloops, B.C.; three sons, Henry and his wife Martha of Dalmeny, Leander and his wife Doreen of North BatLleford, Sask., and Peter and his wife Susan, of Regina, Sask.
