MRS. ANNA REIMER
Anna Reimer of Vauxhall, Alberta was born to Peter and Katharine (nee Penner) Riediger on January 4, 1910 in Klinock, Russia, the eleventh of 15 children. She was gently taken home on May 16, at the age of 68, following several strokes. The Riediger family emigrated to Canada in 1926, and settled on a ranch in Stavely, Alberta, in 1927. It was at Stavely that Anna accepted Christ as her Saviour, was baptized and became a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church. She married John Reimer on November 24, 1929, and they moved to Vauxhall four years later in 1933. Together they raised a family of six sons and three daughters.
The Reimers left the farm in 1966, and moved into the town of Vauxhall. She spent much time doing handwork and sewing for MCC. A trip to Germany and Russia was one of her most precious privileges. Although her life was marked by poor health and numerous serious illnesses, she was spared from long painful suffering at the end.
Left with fond remembrance and a living hope are her husband, John; six sons and their wives, Ben and Margaret, John and Marie, Abe and Frieda, Gerhard and Nellie, Henry and Kathy, and Peter and Elfrieda; three daughters, Elma (Mrs. Bert) Kornelson, Martha (Mrs. Clarence) Wall, (Mrs. Wayne) Whitlock; 23 grandchildren; six sisters; two brothers; and many other relatives and friends.
