Henry Huebert

Henry Huebert of Tofield, Alta. passed away Nov. 8. He was born May 27, 1915 to Jacob and Mary Rempel in Siberia. His parents died during the Russian Revolution, and he was separated from his brothers and sisters. When he was 8, Henry and Helen Huebert took him into their home, saving his life. In 1926 he immigrated to Canada, settling at Sedalia, Alta. and moving to Tofield in 1934. He married Katie Ewert Mar. 12, 1937. He operated the Tofield Feed Mill until retirement in 1976. He then took up woodworking as a hobby, making many items for family and friends. He served his church faithfully until poor health no longer permitted active participation. He had a great love for music, and played and sang with joy as long as he was able. He is remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is mourned by his wife; son Wilmer and Rudy of Tofield and Dennis of Wetaskiwin, Alta.; daughter Brenda Wiens of Sherwood Park, Alta.; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter. The funeral was Nov. 11 in Tofield Gospel Church, with Calvin Buehler and George Quiring ministering.
