MRS. SARA HEIDE

Mrs.) Sara Heide was born on October 19, 1897 to John and Susanna Schroeder of Plum Coulee, Manitoba. She passed away on August 3 in her 80th year. At the age of 15 years she realized her lost condition and accepted Jesus as her Saviour. In 1912 she was baptized and joined the Grossweide Mennonite Brethren Church. She was strong, not wavering in her faith to the end.

On October 1, 1916 she married John J. Heide, sharing joys and sorrows. She lovingly cared for her husband during an illness that led to his death in 1948. Soon after his passing she left the family farm and made her home first in Steinbach, Manitoba, and then in Winkler. She always maintained a great concern for the welfare of the family. A funeral service was held at the Horndean Mennonite Brethren Church with Rev. G. D. Pries and Rev. A. A. Hyde ministering.

She leaves to mourn her children: Annie (Mrs. Andy) Brandt of Abbotsford, B.C.; Peter and wife Helen of Steinbach; John and wife Jessie of Plum Coulee; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five sisters; four brothers; and many friends and relatives.
