MRS. MARIE UNRUH

Marie Nightingale Unruh, daughter of Adam and Lena (Schultz) Nightingale, was born Jan. 27, 1904 near Pauls Valley, Okla. She came to Caddo County, Oklahoma as an infant, and lived here the rest of her life. he received her education in the Alden school system and also attended the local church school.

In her early youth she confessed her sins and upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ was baptized by Elder P. H. Unruh and received into the Greenfield Mennonite Church. Here she was a devoted member, serving when called upon, and remained a faithful, anointed member in the household of faith.

On Easter Sunday, April 27, 1927, she exchanged marriage vows with Dedan Unruh. This marriage lasted 38 years, two months and 23 days.

She became the mother of three sons and two daughters; Leland and Joan of Atchinson, Kan., Nolan and Vonita of Clinton, Okla., Arline and Neva Jean of Liberal, Kan., Evelyn and Don Mulherin of Kingfisher, Okla., Helen and Joe Bamberg of Covington, Okla. They survive together with seven grandsons and seven granddaughters, three brothers and four sisters. Her parents, four brothers and one sister precded her in death.

Early in 1964 she became weak and an examination showed her to be suffering from cancer. She submitted to surgery in June of last year and again in February of this year. She spent 50 days in Mercy and Carnegie hospitals and was bedfast 116 days. She was cared for by specialists and loving nurses and her children.

She died July 11, 1965, reaching the age of 61 years, five months and 14 days.

In the church she was faithful, on the street, gracious, and in the home a mother of love.
