PETER F. JANZEN
Peter F. Janzen, son of Frank and Agnes (Flaming) Janzen, was born June 12, 1877, in Marion County, Kansas, and departed this life July 22, 1965, having reached the age of 88 years, one month and 10 days. The cause of his death was pneumonia and heart trouble.
Father attended the Emmenthal school. He was baptized June 6, 1897 by Elder Peter Balzer and became a member of the Alexanderwohl church. Later he joined the Tabor Mennonite Church.
On Nov. 9, 1898, he was married to Susie Janzen. Father and mother made their home in the Sand Creek District, where he engaged in farming. In 1946 he moved to Walton, Kan. and here he joined the Walton Mennonite Church of which he remained a member until his death. His last days were spent in the Jones Nursing Home in Newton, Kan.
His children will miss him, but we are happy to know he is with the Lord. Some of his greatest joys were his grandchildren and Bible discussions. His wife and three sisters preceded him in death.
Remaining to mourn his death are his children, John and wife Helen of Mound Valley, Kan., Bertha and husband Leonard Hiebert of Walton, Eldon and wife of Chicago, Ill., and Dorothy of the home; one sister, Lizzie Janzen of Goessel. five grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Walton Mennonite Church on July 25, 1965 at 2:30 p.m. Burial was made at the Tabor Cemetery. — The Family.
