MRS. KATHARINA BARTELS
(Mrs.) Katharina Bartels (nee Doerksen) of St. Catharines, Ontario was born in the Ukraine on July 20, 1886. She was baptized in Schoensee in 1924. and was married on November 23, 1910. The Bartels had four children; Peter, Abram, Anny and Hans. Mrs. Bartels was predeceased by her husband and two sons, Abram and Hans, during the second world war. She fled from Russia with her daughter and family in 1943 to Germany. In 1957 she moved from Germany to Canada with her daughter and son-in-law. For the last 20 years she had made St. Catharines her home.
Mrs. Bartels is survived by her son Peter and family in Russia; her daughter, Anny (Mrs. Alfred) Dyck; her grandchildren, Eduard, Elona, Steve and Erika; and great grandchildren Debbie, Chris, Mark and Dana.
