Funeral services for Mrs. John A. (Katie) Friesen, 64, were held in the Gospel Mennonite Church here Feb. 10. She died in the Windom hospital a short time after the crash. Killed instantly was William Tegels, son of Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Tegels.

Mrs. Friesen was a passenger in a car driven by her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Erwin Friesen, along with the four Friesen children. Mrs. Erwin Friesen and daughter Vianne, 4, were hospitalized with serious injuries.

It was reported that the car driven by the Windom youth was attempting to pass a truck and skidded broadside into the path of the Friesen car.

The death of Mrs. Katie Friesen, head cook at the Christian Day School here, is mourned by a large relationship, including 13 children.

Two Killed, Five Injured in Collision Near Windom, Minn.

Mt. Lake, Minn. — A two-car crash on a fog-bound, slippery highway west of Windom Feb. 6 claimed the life of a Mt. Lake widow and a 20-year-old Windom youth and injured five other persons.

Funeral services for Mrs. John A. (Katie) Friesen, 64, were held in the Gospel Mennonite Church here Feb. 10. She died in the Windom hospital a short time after the crash. Killed instantly was William Tegels, son of Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Tegels.
