• F. F. Just of Hillsboro notified the Review that his brother-in-law, Henry G. Heier, 71, died Tuesday at his home in Reedley, Calif. Funeral services are to be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church. Survivors include his wife of the home, who is a sister of Mr. Just, and one son, Harold of Beaver County, Okla. Mr. Heier served in the medical corps during World War I and before his death was a patient at the veterans hospital in Fresno, Calif. for about three years. | |||

Henry g. Heiers was born in Gombin, Russia, on Aug. 20, 1893 and passed from this life on Dec. 8, 1964, having reached the age of 71 years, three months and 18 days. | |||
He accepted the Lord as his Saviour early in life and was baptized on May 17, 1908, while still in Russia. At the age of 19, he left his parents behind and migrated to the United States and settled in Marion County, Kan. He served in the medical corps of the armed forces in World War I. | |||
He married Anna Just on May 11, 1919. This union which lasted 45 years and seven months, was blessed with three children, Edna Ruth and Harold. The twins, Edna and Ruth, both died when only one day old. We made our first home at Balko, Okla., where we were engaged in farming. In 1945, we settled on a farm in the Reedley area. He was instrumental in bringing a number of relatives to Canada from Germany in the 1940's. | |||
He retired in 1958 and that same year went to the San Francisco Veterans Hospital because of illness. Later it was discovered that he had cancer, which eventually resulted in his death. He spent a total of over three years in the hospitals, but was glad to spend his last weeks in his home. | |||
He was a loving husband and father. He loved the fellowship of the church, and was a member of the Balko, Dinuba and Reedley Mennonite churches. | |||
The last months of his life were simply days of waiting for his Lord to take him to Himself. Those who mourn his departure are first of all his wife, Mrs. Anna Heiers of Reedley; one son, Harold, and his wife, Lorene, of Balko, Okla., four grandchildren, Tommy, Wesley, Marjorie and Cornelius. (One grandson, Stanley, preceded him in death.) There are also three brothers, Frank of Reedley, Calif., Andrew of Bakersfield, Calif., and William of Winnipeg, Man., and a host of relatives and friends. | |||

HENRY G. HEIERS
