Kalona, Iowa.  &#8212;  Mrs. Sam R. Steckley, who with her husband operated the general store at Joetown for the past four years, died at her home in Joetown on Dec. 20.  She was 69.  A native of this community, she was married here to Sam R. Steckley in 1915.  They lived in Iowa city for several years before taking over the store operation.
Beside her husband she leaves three sons, one daughter, 20 grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers. 
 
Funeral services were conducted Dec. 23 at the Iowa City Mennonite Church.

Wife of General Store Owner Dies in Iowa

Kalona, Iowa. — Mrs. Sam R. Steckley, who with her husband operated the general store at Joetown for the past four years, died at her home in Joetown on Dec. 20. She was 69. A native of this community, she was married here to Sam R. Steckley in 1915. They lived in Iowa city for several years before taking over the store operation. Beside her husband she leaves three sons, one daughter, 20 grandchildren, four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services were conducted Dec. 23 at the Iowa City Mennonite Church.
