&bull; Daniel F. Schmidt, 69, died early Saturday after suffering a heart attack at his home at Walton. He was dead on arrival at a Newton hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Alexanderwohl Church, with Rev. Aaron Epp in charge. Mr. Schmidt was a native of the Goessel community. Survivors include his widow, the former Kathryn Peters, three sons, one daughter, 12 grandchildren, three brothers and four sisters. A son, Dennis, resides in Newton.
