GORDON WALTER KLASSEN
Gordon Klassen passed away suddenly on September 15 at the age of 16 years. He was the beloved son of Walter and Bettie Klassen of Winnipeg. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his early passing, his brother, Philip, both grandmothers, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Gordon had suffered from asthma since he was five years old, but was uncomplaining and had learned to cope with his illness. He enjoyed an active life and during the past summer had taken a part-time job at a golf club and worked in his father's business for the first time. He had just begun his grade 11 at the River East Collegiate and was enjoying his studies. Golfing, playing his guitar, model building and reading were some of the many hobbies he enjoyed. He was a quiet boy, cheerful and had a real sense of humour. He attended River East Mennonite Brethren Church and enjoyed assisting in operating the sound system there. He was active in young people's and had indicated his interest in baptism this fall.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but they are comforted by the knowledge that he is at home with the Lord.
