WILHELM FALK

Wilhelm Falk was born on May 10, 1894 in the villege of Kroenswerde in the Ukraine. Here he spent his early years and received his education. When the first World War broke out he served with the Red Cross.

On May 5, 1919 he married Mary Peters Their marriage was blessed with one daughter, Hertha. In 1921 Mary died of typhus. On July 30, 1922 he married Katherine Dyck, and to them were born four sons and three daughters. Shortly after their marriage they were baptized upon their confession of faith and became members of the Mennonite Brethren Church.

In 1925 the Falks emigrated to Canada and settled on a farm north of Herbert, Sask., where they farmed until their retirement to Herbert in 1958. During the follow· ing years he had several heart attacks. He also had the strain of caring for his bedridden wife for 14 years. His last two and a half years were spent in the Nursing Home in Herbert. The Lord called him home on August 11.

Pastor Jake Pauls officiated at a memorial service at the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church on August 14. Mr. Falk was predeceased by his wife Katherine, his daughter Hertha and an infant daughter.

He leaves to mourn six children and their families: Albert and Nettie of Herbert; Bernard and Rose of Moose Jaw, Sask.; Art and Joyce of Calgary; Edith and children of Winnipeg; Linda (Mrs. Robert) Suter of Bluffton, Ohio; and Rudolf and Judith of Toronto; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Katherine Falk of Winnipeg; and many friends.
