Johann Thieszen, was born May 28, 1877, in South Russia. At the age of two years he came with his parents to the United States. | |||
On May 30, 1898, he was baptized upon his confession of faith by Elder Peter J. Friesen and received as a member into the Bethesda Mennonite church; Henderson, Neb., where he remained a faithful member to the end. | |||
He was united in marriage with Aganetha Janzen on August 16, 1900. Father and mother were privileged to observe their golden wedding anniversary in 1950. To this union were born eight children: Anna, Mrs. Dan E. Peters; John; Marie, Mrs. David E. Buller; Agnes, Mrs. Peter J. Bergen of Omaha. Neb.; Gustav; and Emma, Mrs. Jake Epp. Two children, David at nine months, Tena at three months of age, and mother, who passed away June 5, 1953, preceded him in death. | |||
He was in failing health during this past year, and became seriously ill on Dec. 14, 1953. He went to his eternal home on Friday, Dec. 18, 1953, at 10:15 a.m. He reached the age of 76 years, six months, and 20 days. Father always took a great interest in the spiritual and material welfare of his family. He was very conscientious in his church attendance and had a genuine concern in the total work of the church. During his last days with us he expressed the desire to go to his heavenly home, there to meet his Lord and his loved ones. | |||
He leaves to mourn his departure: four daughters; two sons; four sons-in-law; two daughters-in-law; 27 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves a large number of other relatives and friends. Six grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. | |||

JOHANN THIESZEN
Johann Thieszen, was born May 28, 1877, in South Russia. At the age of two years he came with his parents to the United States.
