Mrs. Jennie Louise Toevs, 58, wife of Edward E. Toevs, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 1964 at the Halstead (Kan.) Hospital, following a long illness. Born Aug 22, 1905 in Durham, Kan. the daughter of Wiley and Lena Hensely [''sic'' Hensley]. Mrs. Toevs came to Halstead in 1925 and attended high school, graduating with the class of 1926. She and Mr. Toevs were united in marriage on May 2, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kan. | |||
Mrs. Toevs was a member of the First Mennonite Church of Halstead, where she was an active member of the Home Builders Sunday School class, Reading Circle, Wednesday quilters, and other church and community organizations. | |||
Survivors include her husband, two sons, Loren E. of East Peoria, Ill. and Harold E. of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, James Hensley of Tampa, Kan. and Robert Hensley of Halstead; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Agnes) Pientka of Marion, Kan., Mrs. Harry (Margaret) Scott of Halstead, Mrs. H. T. (Elizabeth) Daniels of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Mrs. John (Josephine) Neuwirth of Lost Springs, Kan.; and four grandchildren. Another brother, Harver [''sic''], preceded her in death. | |||
