Perry J. Yoder, 90, of rural Topeka, died Jan. 25 at Lagrange Community Hospital. He had been in failing health one year. Services were held at the Emma Mennonite Church, with Ken Bontreger, Ivan Miller and Amos Hostetler officiating.—Ruth E. Bender.
Funeral services were held Jan. 20 at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home for Henry George Brown, who died Jan. 17 at Goshen Hospital. He was the father of Teresa Brown Beachy, wife of Roger Beachy of St. Louis, Mo. The family, with their two children, came to Goshen for the services.—Ruth E. Bender.
Harley S. Keim, 71, died Jan. 30 at Goshen Hospital, where he had been admitted several hours previously. Death was due to an apparent heart attack. Services were held at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Officiating was Gary Martin, pastor of the Silver Street Mennonite Church, where Mr. Keim was a member.—Ruth E. Bender.
Sadie Morrell, 94, died Jan. 3 as she was preparing to move into the Greencroft Nursing Center. Services were held at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with Bruce Vincent officiating.—Ruth E. Bender.
Daniel D. Hooley, 78, of Middlebury, died Feb. 2 at his home after an extended illness. Services were held at the Forks Mennonite Church, with John Yoder and Sylvester Haarer officiating.—Ruth E. Bender.
Services for Melody Grace Mast, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mast of rural Goshen, were held at the Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury Feb. 4. She died Feb. 1 at Goshen Hospital, where she had been taken by ambulance. Officiating at the funeral were Paul Hershberger, Paul E. Martin and Bishop Calvin Borntrager.—Ruth E. Bender.
Christopher Lee Slabaugh, 3, died Feb. 8 at James Whitcomb Riley Children's Hospital, Indianapolis, where he had been a patient the past two weeks. He had been ill with leukemia. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Slabaugh of Bashor Road. Services were held at the East Goshen Mennonite Church, with Pastor Gifford Miller officiating.—Ruth E. Bender.
Chester M. Gingerich, 56, of Middlebury, died Feb. 15 at Goshen General Hospital following a lingering illness. He had been hospitalized five days. Services were held at the Clinton Brick Mennonite Church. Officiating were John Yoder and Stan Miller.—Ruth E. Bender.
