(Mrs.) Jessie Rempel of Portage la Prairie, Man. passed away on August 2B . She was born in Russia and came to Canada with her family at age eight. They lived near Stein- bach, Man . for a few years before moving to Winnipeg. She received the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Saviour at an early age and was baptized at age 17 into the Mennonite Brethren Church. For 1B years she taught Sunday school. In Portage la Prairie she worked as house mother at the nurses residence of the Manitoba School for Retardates for 23 years. She married Bill Rempel in 1969 and retired in 1976. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Portage la Prairie. She is survived by her hus- band Bill, and by three sisters in Winnipeg: Sara (Mrs. John G.) Klassen, Helen (Mrs. Dave) Ediger and Tina (Mrs. Ben) Hiebert.
