EDWARD DEFEHR

Edward Elmer DeFehr died peacefully May 9 of cancer. He was born Aug. 11, 1920 to Frank and Lena DeFehr in Main Centre, Sask. and married Laura Penner Aug. 30, 1942. They lived in Sudbury, Ont. while he worked at International Nickel as part of the war effort, then moved back to Main Centre in 1943 and on to Abbotsford, B.C. in 1947. Ed owned and operated a trucking business until 1955, then worked 28 years for B.C. Hydro. During retirement, Ed and Laura travelled, fished, gardened, and spent time with their family. Predeceased by 2 daughters, 1 great-grandson, 3 siblings; he is mourned by Laura; children Marilyn (Gerry) Bruce, Dianne (Rudy) Schroeder, Daryl; son-in-law Ray Peters; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren. The celebration of life service was May 16 at Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C.
