She was born May 15, 1905 in<br /> Fuerstenwerder, southern Russia. She<br /> accepted Christ early in life and was<br /> baptized in the MB church, where she<br /> remained a member all her life. She married<br /> George Quiring in 1924. They immigrated to<br /> Canada in 1925, settling in Namaka, Alta.,<br /> where they farmed 42 years. They retired to<br /> Calgary in 1968. She remained in her home<br /> until fall, 1987, when she moved to a seniors apartmemt. All but 1 of her children spent<br /> time with her on her last day. Predeceased<br /> by her husband in 1973 and oldest daughter<br /> Annie Wittenberg in 1984,<br /> she is survived by her sons<br /> George of Edmonton, Abe of<br /> Winnipeg, and Alfred and<br /> Ted of Calgary; daughters<br /> Lydia Nickel of Tofield, Alta.<br /> and Agatha Friesen, Bertha<br /> Schmidt and Esther Epp of<br /> Calgary; 39 grandchildren;<br /> 35 great-grandchildren; 2<br /> sisters and 1 brother.
