Katherine Pauls of Winnipeg passed away&lt;br /&gt;
Apr. 17. She was born Dec. 7, 1903 to Johann&lt;br /&gt;
and Aganeta Paetkau in Burwalde, Russia.&lt;br /&gt;
In December, 1925 she came to Main Centre,&lt;br /&gt;
Sask. with her husband John&lt;br /&gt;
Pauls and son, John. They&lt;br /&gt;
moved to Beechy, Sask. in&lt;br /&gt;
1927, back to Main Centre&lt;br /&gt;
in 1934, to Greenfarm,&lt;br /&gt;
Sask. in 1943, then to&lt;br /&gt;
Main Centre and to Winnipeg in 1959. She loved&lt;br /&gt;
to sing and knew countless&lt;br /&gt;
German hymns from memory. She loved her household&lt;br /&gt;
work. She encouraged her children to pursue&lt;br /&gt;
a good education (she had completed only&lt;br /&gt;
grade 5) and instilled in them a love of reading. She chose to look after 2 handicapped&lt;br /&gt;
children until after her 60th wedding&lt;br /&gt;
anniversary. In Donwood Manor she was&lt;br /&gt;
always cheerful and happy. Predeceased by&lt;br /&gt;
her husband Nov. 10, 1988, daughter Helen&lt;br /&gt;
in 1933 and all 10 of her siblings, she is&lt;br /&gt;
mourned by her children John of Altona,&lt;br /&gt;
Man., Adolph of Three Hills, Alta., Abe of&lt;br /&gt;
Calgary, Mary of Winnipeg, Bertha Klassen&lt;br /&gt;
of Winnipeg, Laura Funk of Elm Creek,&lt;br /&gt;
Man., Harold of Winnipeg, Irvin of Morden,&lt;br /&gt;
Man . and Waldo of Winnipeg; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The funeral&lt;br /&gt;
was Apr. 19 in North Kildonan MB Church,&lt;br /&gt;
Winnipeg, with Victor Toews and Henry&lt;br /&gt;
Klaassen ministering.&lt;br /&gt;
