<center><h3>KATHERINE PAULS</h3></center><br />
<br />
Katherine Pauls of Winnipeg passed away<br />
Apr. 17. She was born Dec. 7, 1903 to Johann<br />
and Aganeta Paetkau in Burwalde, Russia.<br />
In December, 1925 she came to Main Centre,<br />
Sask. with her husband John<br />
Pauls and son, John. They<br />
moved to Beechy, Sask. in<br />
1927, back to Main Centre<br />
in 1934, to Greenfarm,<br />
Sask. in 1943, then to<br />
Main Centre and to Winnipeg in 1959. She loved<br />
to sing and knew countless<br />
German hymns from memory. She loved her household<br />
work. She encouraged her children to pursue<br />
a good education (she had completed only<br />
grade 5) and instilled in them a love of reading. She chose to look after 2 handicapped<br />
children until after her 60th wedding<br />
anniversary. In Donwood Manor she was<br />
always cheerful and happy. Predeceased by<br />
her husband Nov. 10, 1988, daughter Helen<br />
in 1933 and all 10 of her siblings, she is<br />
mourned by her children John of Altona,<br />
Man., Adolph of Three Hills, Alta., Abe of<br />
Calgary, Mary of Winnipeg, Bertha Klassen<br />
of Winnipeg, Laura Funk of Elm Creek,<br />
Man., Harold of Winnipeg, Irvin of Morden,<br />
Man . and Waldo of Winnipeg; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The funeral<br />
was Apr. 19 in North Kildonan MB Church,<br />
Winnipeg, with Victor Toews and Henry<br />
Klaassen ministering.<br />
