	— Harvey County lost one of its most prominent citizens in the death last Friday of State Representative Raymond King, 41, of Hesston. He and his wife Yvonne were among the passengers killed when a two-engine plane crashed near Loveland Pass in Colorado while carrying part of the Wichita State University football team, coaching staff and some supporters to Logan, Utah for a game with Utah State University. Mr. King, part owner of the King Construction Company, was prominent in civic and church affairs. He and his wife were both active members of the Hesston United Methodist Church. He had served two terms in the Kansas House of Representatives where, as a member of the education committee, he was co-sponsor of the legislation which provides for an alternate educational plan for the Amish and other minority groups opposed to sending their children to public high schools. Mr. and Mrs. King leave seven children. The oldest daughter is a student at Asbury College in Kentucky and the others are all at home. 			— An estimated 2,000 persons attended memorial services in the Hesston High School auditorium the afternoon of Oct. 7 for Mr. and Mrs. Raymond King, who were among 30 persons killed Oct. 2 when an airplane carrying part of the Wichita State University football team, coaches and supporters to a scheduled game at Logan, Utah crashed in the Colorado Rockies. Mr. King, 48, was serving his second term as State Representative and was a well-known Hesston businessman and civic leader. Among those speaking at the services were Dr. Dennis Kinlaw, president of Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky., and Dr. Ford Philpot, well-known evangelist of Lexington, Ky. High officials of the state, Harvey County, and area cities were in attendance. A private memorial service for family members was held at the United Methodist Church at Hesston in the morning.
